What is MasquePlay?
MasquePlay is a private roleplay game for couples who are already together. It is not a dating app, and it never introduces you to anyone new.
- Who plays
- Two adults in a relationship, 18+, each on their own phone. No solo mode, no feed, no public profile.
- How it works
- You share a scene, each keep one fictional character, and look for each other's. When you find each other, the scene opens as a private in-character chat.
- The characters
- AI-generated and entirely fictional. AI can suggest an opening line or rewrite a message if you want the help; it never plays your partner.
- The stages
- Each stage is a setting with its own cast: The Real World (modern romance), The Veil (romantasy), and Perigee (space opera).
- Where it stands
- In private beta, played on your phone. Native iOS and Android apps are built; App Store and Google Play releases are planned after the beta.

The game is meant to feel mysterious. How it treats you shouldn't be.
Who can see what we do?
Only the two of you. No solo mode, no feed, no public profile, nobody else to meet — and your data is never sold or used for marketing.
Where does AI come into it?
AI writes the fictional characters and can help with scene setup and voice. It never plays your partner, and your messages never train our models.
Is this explicit?
It's 18+, and where a scene goes is up to you. MasquePlay sets the stage and stays out of the way.
How is this different from an AI companion app?
In a companion app, you talk to an AI. Here, the character across from you is your partner. AI builds the cast and the setting; it never plays the other side.
Can we play when we're apart?
Yes. You each play on your own phone, so it works across the couch or across the country.
What do we need?
Two smartphones, one each. iPhone or Android. That's it.
