A private roleplay game for couples. Tonight you get to be
strangers again.
Same partner. New characters. Different chemistry.
A private roleplay game for you and the partner you already have. Not a dating app.
- 18+ only
- Two players
- Nothing public
You are not looking for anyone.
You already found them.
You already know the person. MasquePlay changes the setting, the names, and what you give yourselves permission to imagine.
The game
Four moves, and the night is yours.
A minute to set up. Everything after that is the two of you — try it below.
-
01
Set the scene
Whoever opens the app first picks where tonight happens. You both play it.
-
02
Keep one character
Ten characters arrive. Keep one, lock it in, and say nothing.
-
03
Find them in their ten
Swipe their ten. Every face is visible; only their choice is hidden.
-
04
Play what happens next
If you each liked the other's kept character, the scene opens — private, in character.
Rooftop Bar The rooftop bar just before the storm breaks, everyone else already heading in.
01 Tonight's scene One of you picks. You both play it.
02 Your personas 0 / 1
A real scene deals ten. You keep one.

I can tell you what goes wrong at midnight, but I still believe in people.

It's a Match
You reached for each other in a room full of strangers.
Marcus PrideYou're late.
Adrianna NeriYou're still here.
A real round runs ten each, and both of you swipe before it resolves.
Pick where tonight starts. Whoever opens the app first chooses; you both play the same scene.
Three stages.
Same two people.
Each has its own cast, its own manners, and its own reasons to stand too close.
Stage 01 Modern romance
The Real World
Rooftops, galleries, hotel bars, last trains. Exactly as things are now — except the names.
Explore The Real World
Stage 02 Romantasy
The Veil
Thornmere after dusk: lantern light on black water, and courts that have been waiting a long time.
Explore The Veil
Stage 03 Space opera
Perigee
Vesper Station keeps its own hours: garden concourses, midnight docks, and a window with nothing behind it.
Explore Perigee
More stages are still behind the curtain. They arrive as MasquePlay grows.
The private beta
Come in as a Founding Couple.
A small number of couples get in early to play all three stages and tell us the truth about them — and keep full access for the whole beta.
- 01Play twice over two weeksBoth of you need a smartphone. That's the only hardware.
- 02Tell us what really happenedOne short, honest conversation afterwards.
- 03Full early accessEvery stage and feature, for as long as the beta runs.
In plain terms
What is MasquePlay?
MasquePlay is a private roleplay game for couples who are already together. It is not a dating app, and it never introduces you to anyone new.
- Who plays
- Two adults in a relationship, 18+, each on their own phone. No solo mode, no feed, no public profile.
- How it works
- You share a scene, each keep one fictional character, and look for each other's. When you find each other, the scene opens as a private in-character chat.
- The characters
- AI-generated and entirely fictional. AI can suggest an opening line or rewrite a message if you want the help; it never plays your partner.
- The stages
- Each stage is a setting with its own cast: The Real World (modern romance), The Veil (romantasy), and Perigee (space opera).
- Where it stands
- In private beta, played on your phone. Native iOS and Android apps are built; App Store and Google Play releases are planned after the beta.
Before you come in
The unromantic part.
The game is meant to feel mysterious. How it treats you shouldn't be.
Who can see what we do?
Only the two of you. No solo mode, no feed, no public profile, nobody else to meet — and your data is never sold or used for marketing.
Where does AI come into it?
AI writes the fictional characters and can help with scene setup and voice. It never plays your partner, and your messages never train our models.
Is this explicit?
It's 18+, and where a scene goes is up to you. MasquePlay sets the stage and stays out of the way.
How is this different from an AI companion app?
In a companion app, you talk to an AI. Here, the character across from you is your partner. AI builds the cast and the setting; it never plays the other side.
Can we play when we're apart?
Yes. You each play on your own phone, so it works across the couch or across the country.
What do we need?
Two smartphones, one each. iPhone or Android. That's it.
Is it free?
Free for Founding Couples during the private beta.
